What to do? When you have only two days in County Cork Ireland.
Blarney Castle, Co. Cork |
Cork has great golf courses to play and excellent PGA Golf Professional that can work with you so can play better
golf.
County Cork has no shortage of great golf courses to play.
You may decide to spend the day learning how you can play better golf at John
Dooley PGA Golf.
Jimmy Bruen is known as one of the great Irish golfers
during his time and he played his club golf at Cork Golf Club. Another great golf
course to mention is Fota Island and Fota will be hosting the European tours
Irish Open this 2014. However do not miss and you must play arguably the most
scenic golf course in the world, The Old Head Golf Links.
History awaits you
Blarney Castle; you cannot visit Cork without kissing the
blarney stone… So you might have heard the expression “you are full of
Blarney!” You can visit Spike Island, as it’s otherwise known as “Ireland’s
Alcatraz”. Finally take a tour of the Jameson
Distillery in Middleton, where they distil the famous smooth Irish rare
Middleton Whiskey.
Great food Cork!
You too can sample some of the abundant tasty restaurants in
the town of Kinsale. Not too forget what you can find in Cork city and if you
feel you need to learn how to cook great food, may I suggest to you the famous
Ballymaloe cookery school.
Concierge golf recommends the follow restaurants & pubs:
The Bulman, Fishy Fishy & pub grub from the White
Lady in Kinsale.
Market Lane in Cork city, however our number 1 voted restaurant
in Cork is Les Gourmandes.
Try Reardens & the Oliver Plunkett Tavern in Cork City, all the pub in Kinsale are great and you could try to pub crawl all 40 pubs!
This is an example of what you could do in Cork with just
two days
Day one:
Kiss the blarney stone and visit the Jameson distillery in
the morning, followed by a round of golf at the Old Head golf Links. Dinner
that night at Fishy Fishy and spend the night at Hayfield Manor.
Day two:
Take a golf lesson in the morning with one of the top PGA
teaching professionals at John Dooley Golf Limited and followed by 18 holes of
golf at Cork Golf Club. Then spend the afternoon exploring spike Island and
uncover what history awaits you there. I like the idea of enjoying a nice
casual dinner at the Market lane restaurant before taking in some of the night
life the Oliver Plunkett Tavern and Rearden’s night club. Then it is only a
short taxi trip home to Hayfield Manor for the night.
